National Assembly: The salary of deputies has not been revised to $30,000 (Jacques Ndjoli)

In an interview granted this Friday, March 22, 2024, national deputy Jacques Ndjoli denied the information according to which the salaries of national elected officials have been revised upwards and would be set at $30,000.

In his capacity as president of the special commission, J. Ndjoli emphasizes that under no circumstances can internal regulations deal with the file relating to salary or finances.

“It is false and extremely false, ill-intentioned people have speculated false information according to which the salary of national deputies would be revised upwards and set at 30,000 US dollars. You cannot listen to such information, it is not the internal regulations which set the salary or handle the financial file of national deputies,” declared Jacques N’djoli.

However, Jacques N’djoli refused to give the exact amount that a national deputy receives each end of the month.

Regarding the addition of a second assistant to national deputies, Jacques Ndjoli also describes this as false information and affirms that no decision has been taken in this direction.

“False, under no circumstances can the internal regulations make a decision on the financial matters of the National Assembly. It is not the internal regulations to authorize a national deputy to have a second assistant, it is simply wrong! Do not trust the false rumors circulating on social networks,” said Jacques Ndjoli.

In particular, he called on the public not to trust the information relayed on social networks by those he describes as enemies of the country’s institutions.

The report of the special commission responsible for drawing up the internal regulations is already at the level of the plenary assembly, examining it article by article.
