390 people from Daegu and Gyeongbuk were included among the large habitual delinquents newly disclosed by the National Tax Service.
According to the National Tax Service, in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, there were 390 large-scale habitual delinquents who had delinquent national taxes worth more than 200 million won for more than a year, accounting for 7.9% of the total 4,939 people in the country.
In Daegu, 168 people owed 89.3 billion won in arrears, and in Gyeongbuk, 222 people owed 118.6 billion won in arrears.
In Daegu and Gyeongbuk, there were 176 corporations with large amounts of habitual delinquency, accounting for 5.8% of the 3,027 companies in the country.
In Daegu, 73 corporations delinquent 41.3 billion won in taxes, and in Gyeongbuk, 103 corporations did not pay 48.4 billion won in taxes.
The amount repeatedly delinquent by these individuals and corporations in Daegu and Gyeongbuk was 297.6 billion won, or 5.8% of the country’s total 5.1313 trillion won.
The person with the largest amount of arrears in Daegu was 4 billion won in value-added tax, and the largest amount in the case of corporations was 6 billion won in arrears, including earned income tax.
In the case of Gyeongbuk, the person with the largest amount of delinquency was 4.7 billion won, including comprehensive income tax, and for corporations, the largest amount of delinquency was 3 billion won, including corporate tax.
There were 31 convicted tax offenders nationwide, including 6 from Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
Meanwhile, there were 41 organizations that received insincere donations, and religious organizations accounted for the largest number at 29, accounting for 70%.
Among these, 12 educational and religious organizations located in Gyeongbuk were included.
The organization that issued the most false donation receipts in Gyeongbuk was a Buddhist temple in Yeongju, which issued false donation receipts worth 246 million won on 217 occasions.
