Nea Odos, loyal to its strategic commitment to protect the environment and promote sustainability, has planned and implemented a number of actions and projects with the aim of being in practice the greenest highway in the country.
In this context and given the excellent cooperation with the Motorway Police, he handed over to the Second Department of Motorway Traffic P.A.Th.E. Attica, the first electric vehicle, investigative patrol car, on a Greek highway.
The handover ceremony took place at the Malakasa Motorist Service Station (Sirios) in the presence of the General Secretary of Public Order, Mr. Manos Logothetis, the Director of the Attica Traffic Directorate, Brigadier Christos Papafilippou, the Commander of the 2nd Department of Highway Traffic PA.THE. Attica, Deputy Police Director Chrysoula Baku, the Managing Director of Nea Odos, Mr. Rodiano Antonakopoulos and executives of the Hellenic Police and Nea Odos.
The General Secretary, Mr. Logothetis receiving the key said: “special joy today for the Greek Police, the Traffic and obviously the Ministry of Citizen Protection on receiving a modern green vehicle from Nea Odos. Today is the first step for the green upgrade of the Greek Police and the Greek Traffic.»
Mr. Antonakopoulos stated, among other things: Today the joy of all of us in Nea Odos is double. First, we deliver the country’s first electric investigation vehicle to Highway Traffic. Secondly, this is happening in a place that is a symbol for us, the well-known Sirius, where with the help and expertise of our GEK TERNA Group, we have put into pilot operation the first and largest hybrid charging station for electric cars with photovoltaics in the parking canopies . The vehicle has a range of approximately 300 km and is equipped with a special infrastructure of EL.AS. At the same time, at the disposal of the Traffic Authority are all the chargers that Nea Odos has already installed and operates in its facilities, as well as at SEA Malakasas Sirius.
