Benjamin Netanyahu wins defamation case against former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Elmort. The prime minister-designate approached the court against Ehud’s remark that Netanyahu and his family were mentally ill. The court also ruled that Ehud should pay 62,500 Israeli shekels (approximately Rs. 14.76 lakh) as compensation.
Ehud, who was prime minister in 2006, resigned in 2009 following corruption allegations. Then, when Netanyahu came to power, the hostility between the two increased. Last April, Ehud made a controversial remark during a television interview.
