The Netherlands will transfer at least 24 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister Mark Rutte at the Munich Security Conference.
“There will be (transferred to Ukraine – URA.RU note) 24 fighters, perhaps more, but not less. We work together with the Danes and others,” Mark Rutte said in an interview with Radio Liberty (included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign media agents). The prime minister stressed that preparations for the transfer were “on schedule” and that the Netherlands hoped to send the fighters as soon as possible.
It was 24 F-16 fighters that the Ukrainian authorities requested from the West as part of the first military aid, reports TV channel 360. Newspaper The country clarified that it would take about six months to train the Ukrainian military to use the fighter, and the same amount of time would have to be spent on training engineers.
