Another major discovery announced this week. A study, published in the scientific journal Natureindeed proves a theory put forward in the 1990s by Konrad Bloch, Nobel Prize in Medicine, on the current existence of the first steps towards complex life on Earth.
A life form that thrived on Earth a minimum of a billion years. Until now, a link was missing to completely validate the theory of the Nobel Prize. The misunderstanding resided in the fact that we did not find a very important element for life (sterol) in eukaryotes (at the origin of all living organisms) older than 800 million years. An enigma now solved which therefore validates the theory, 30 years later.
