“Up to 17 flights per week will be operated all year round to Agadir and Marrakech from six British airports from October 2024,” according to British media Travelweekly.

The two companies will serve Marrakech from Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Stansted.

Agadir will be served from Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Stansted.

Three of the routes – Glasgow-Marrakech, Bristol-Agadir and Leeds Bradford-Agadir – are exclusive to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

More than 20 hotels are available in Agadir, a similar number in Marrakech, including Riad-type accommodation, and more than 20 hotels in the Marrakech region.

Steve Heapy, Managing Director of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to offer our customers and independent travel companies even more choice with the launch of Morocco as a brand new destination.

“With year-round availability for the magical destinations of Marrakech and Agadir, we give vacationers access to two famous vacation spots.”

He added: “This new expansion demonstrates the strength of our growing business, and it builds on the fact that customers and independent travel agents choose to travel with us time and time once more.”
