Launched in November 2022, God of War Ragnarok was one of the main games of the last year, with excellent reception and several awards won. Now, Santa Monica has released an update to further extend the lifespan of its title, calling players back to the adventure of Kratos and Atreus.
With the launch of the new game +, the famous “new game plus”, fans can embark on the Nordic adventure again, but this time starting the title with everything they have already achieved in the first game. With New Game+, you start the journey with all your equipment, your weapons and also the abilities that have already been unlocked. In addition, the new mode also brought other news to the title.
New gear, new level caps, new Enchantments… all this and much more will be introduced in God of War Ragnarok’s New Game+ mode! Once you’ve finished the game, you can dive right into a New Game+ to experience the story all over again with tons of additional gameplay options available right from the start.
New Armor for Kratos
God of War Ragnarok New Game+ allows players to equip Kratos with new armors, all of which feature unique looks and characteristics of their own.
For example, players can now explore the Nordic kingdoms while wearing the armors of Zeus and Ares, which were successful in the 2018 game. In addition, another novelty is the Black Bear Armor, which has a cape, something much requested by fans. players since the launch of Ragnarok.
Revamped Armor
In addition to the new New Game+ armors, the update also brought revamped versions of 13 armors that were already present in the game since launch.
Players can now perform new color combinations and styles to change the appearance of equipment. Appearances can be purchased from the Huldra Brothers Shop.
Niflheim Arena and Endgame Bosses
The update expanded the Niflheim Training Arena, which now allows players to take on new enemies. Additionally, fans can play as either Kratos or Atreus while choosing any companion to take on in combat, including Freya, Brok, Sindri, Ingrid, Anrboda, Thrúd, and Thor.
As for the Souls of the Berserkers and the Valkyrie Queen Gná, bosses at the end of the game, they gained improvements in the fights and became even more difficult opponents. The developers recommend that players return to these fights even if they’ve already beaten the bosses.

How to access New Game+
To access New Game+ you must have beaten God of War Ragnarok’s main campaign on any game difficulty. If you have completed the title, go to the main menu and choose the New Game+ option. After that, just use one of your saves, either manual or automatic, to start the journey from scratch with all your equipment and skill progress maintained.
