New Mac Pro label says it’s ‘Produced in Thailand’

The new American Mac Pro has a label stating that it is ” Produced in Thailand and that final assembly is done in the United States. This is a change from the old model, whose label simply stated ” Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in USA ».

FCC Filing of the new Mac Pro.

MacRumors spotted this change and claims that the Mac Pro Apple Silicon sold in the United States is assembled in the same Texas factory as the older models. Difficult to know why Apple added this mention. All of the other Macs are produced and assembled in Asian countries, notably in China and perhaps soon in Vietnam. In France, our 2019 Mac Pro models were assembled and shipped from China.

The new Apple Silicon Mac Pro comes with an M2 Ultra chip and can go up to 192 GB of RAM. Its case is similar to the 2019 model, the main change coming from the internal chip. The first models should arrive today for early order customers, while there will still be a few days of waiting for some custom configurations.
