Jeddah: Saudi Arabia’s new defense and education ministers have been sworn in. King Salman’s order appointing Amir Khalid bin Salman as Minister of Defense and Yousuf bin Abdullah Albouniyan as Minister of Education was issued on Tuesday evening.

The oath ceremony took place at night itself. The two ministers took the oath before King Salman in the presence of Crown Prince Amir Mohammed bin Salman at the Al Salam Palace in Jeddah. Amir Khalid bin Salman was appointed as the Minister of Defense while he was the Minister of State for Defence.​

Yusuf bin Abdullah Albuniyan is the first time to reach the cabinet after being appointed as the Minister of Education. Current Education Minister Dr. Hamad Bin Muhammad Bin Alusheikh has been appointed as the Minister of State.
