New Teams is 2x faster and 50% lighter

The latest update to Microsoft Teams transformed the application, making it twice as fast, reducing RAM memory consumption by 50% and taking up 70% less storage space on the computer. According to Sérgio Gatlán, from the website Bleeping Computer, this significant improvement was made available to all Windows and macOS users from October 5th.

The new version of Microsoft Teams has been tested in preview form since March. Since then, Microsoft developers have been working to bring substantial improvements to the application in terms of features and performance.

In addition to increased performance, memory savings and a more compact size, the update also highlights “custom line-of-business applications, third-party applications, breakout rooms, 7×7 video display, call queues, PSTN calling, search contextual across chats and channels, the ability to cross-post a channel conversation, and more,” according to the Windows developer.

With the move to general availability, new features and improvements will be available exclusively in the new Teams. The new Teams includes support for multi-tenant organizations (MTO) and multi-tenant, multi-account (MTMA) organizations, which enable seamless integration across tenants. communication and collaboration across organizational boundaries across multiple tenants and accounts.

Copilot no Microsoft Teams

As with other applications and Windows itself, Microsoft Teams is also gaining integration with Copilot. This way, it will be easier to get meeting summaries, business ideas and more.

Launch and availability

The Microsoft Teams update is coming to Microsoft 365 Business and Teams Essentials subscribers. Subscribers should receive by the end of October 2023, according to Microsoft’s calendar.
