News 24 | The Minister of Health: 38 cases of corona were recorded in the holy sites, and there are no significant outbreaks or epidemics

The Minister of Health, Fahd Al-Jalajil, announced the success of the health plans in this year’s Hajj and that it was free from any outbreaks or epidemics affecting public health, pointing out that a limited number of infections with the new Corona virus were monitored, the number of which reached 38 in the holy sites, without recording secondary cases.

He added that these cases were dealt with according to health protocols while facilitating their performance of their rituals, and health services were provided in more than 230 health facilities across all health sectors to provide services to pilgrims, through more than 25,000 health practitioners, and with the support of more than 2,000 volunteers.

He pointed out that the number of pilgrims who received health services amounted to 130,000 pilgrims, in addition to performing a number of operations, including 10 open-heart surgeries, 447 dialysis sessions, and providing virtual services through the “Virtual Health” hospital for more than two thousand pilgrims.

He noted that the Saudi Red Crescent Authority provided a flying ambulance service to transport injured pilgrims around the clock, and air ambulance cases amounted to more than 17 cases, with an average of 29 minutes.

He stressed that the solidarity of government agencies involved in providing services to pilgrims played a significant role in the success of the health plans for this year’s Hajj, extending his thanks to all health practitioners from all sectors for their dedication and efforts in this year’s Hajj season.
