Japanese cartoonist Fujiko Fujio Ⓐ (formerly known as An Sunzi Suo) died at his home in Kawasaki, Japan on the morning of April 7 at the age of 88. His works include “Ninja Elf”, “Q Taro”, etc. During his career, he shared a pseudonym with Fujiko F. Fujio (formerly known as Fujimoto Hiroshi), the author of “Doraemon”.

Japanese police revealed that famous cartoonist An Sunzi Suxiong was found dead at his home at about 8:40 this morning (Japan time) at the age of 88. The cause of death is under investigation. An Sunzi Suo and Fujimoto Hiroshi, who were born in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, shared a pen name. The two were classmates when they were young, and they also had the dream of being a cartoonist. Later, after graduating from high school, the two went to Tokyo to develop and began to serialize “Ninja Spirit” ( Ninja ハットリくん), “Q Taro” (オバケのQ Taro), “Monster Prince” (Monster くん) and other works.

In 1996, when Hiroshi Fujimoto passed away, An Sunzi Suo was asked if he would inherit the new “Doraemon” produced by his friend. He said that he could not draw the same type of work as Hiroshi Fujimoto.

In 2008, Fujiko FujioⒶ received the Rising Sun Medal, the National Order of Japan, reflecting his important contribution to the development of Japanese culture.
