Nissan announces Executive Committee changes

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the following changes to the Executive Committee, effective July 1, 2023.

“In response to ever-evolving market conditions, we will introduce an agile, flatter leadership structure that will empower functional and regional leadership. The new executive committee will work as a cohesive team to accelerate progress on the Nissan NEXT strategic plan for the final year of deliveries and craft the next mid-term plan to realize Nissan’s growth plans,” said Makoto Uchida, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.

With this change, the chairs of the regional management committees (regional management committees – MC) – Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President (SVP), MC AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania); Jérémie Papin, SVP, MC Americas; and Shohei Yamazaki, SVP, MC China – join the executive committee and report directly to Makoto Uchida, CEO.

Additionally, Ivan Espinosa, global SVP of Product Planning & Global Program Management joins the executive committee, expanding his scope to include the company’s global motorsports activities. Espinosa will report to Makoto Uchida, CEO.

The current members of the executive committee will also expand their scope of action, reporting to Makoto Uchida, CEO:

Asako Hoshino, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chairman of the Board of MC for the Japan-ASEAN (South East Asia) region, responsible for global Sales & Marketing, Customer Experience and INFINITI activities, will include global Aftermarket activities in its scope.

Hideyuki Sakamoto, EVP of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management (SCM), will include responsibility for Purchasing activities.

Stephen Ma, chief financial officer (CFO), responsible for the areas of Finance, Control, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), IT/IS Global and Investor Relations, will include Operations Performance activities as his new area of ​​responsibility.

Kunio Nakaguro, EVP of R&D (Research and Development) will retain his current areas of responsibility.

All other members of the Executive Committee will maintain their scope of action and level of reporting.
