no trace of child pornography content in its computer equipment

According to information from BFM TVconfirmed by LCI, the investigators would not, at this stage, have found child pornography in the electronic devices searched at the home of Pierre Palmade. The research continues.

The comedian has been targeted since February 18 by an investigation for possession of child pornography images, after the report of an acquaintance. A man was indicted last Saturday for dissemination and possession of child pornography images, and placed under judicial supervision as part of this investigation.

The fallen star was placed last Monday in pre-trial detention in connection with the serious road accident he had caused on February 10 under the influence of cocaine. For the time being, the comedian, who had a stroke on Saturday, has been placed in jail from his hospital bed. He could then be imprisoned in Fresnes prison (Val-de-Marne).

A tragic accident

On February 10, Pierre Palmade hit a car on a departmental road in Seine-et-Marne. In addition to the actor, three people from the same family were seriously injured in the collision: a 38-year-old man, his 6-year-old son and his 27-year-old pregnant sister-in-law. The two passengers in the car driven by Pierre Palmade fled.

On February 11, an investigation was opened. We learn that the comedian, whose days are no longer in danger, has tested positive for cocaine and substitution drugs and that the pregnant woman has lost her baby.

The beginning of legal troubles

On February 17, Pierre Palmade was indicted for “homicide and involuntary injuries by a driver who used narcotics in a state of legal recidivism”. His two supposed passengers during the accident, a 33-year-old Moroccan and a 34-year-old Frenchman, are placed under the status of assisted witness for “non-assistance to a person in danger”.

The same day, the judge of freedoms and detention of the judicial court of Melun decides to assign the actor to residence, under electronic bracelet, to the addiction service of the Paul-Brousse hospital in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne ). The Melun prosecution, which had requested pre-trial detention, appealed.

Case prison

On February 24, the Paris Court of Appeal put its decision under advisement until February 27. The next day, Pierre Palmade suffered a stroke at the Paul-Brousse hospital in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne). It is transferred to that of Kremlin-Bicêtre (Val-de-Marne).

This Monday, February 27, despite the evolution of the actor’s state of health, the Court of Appeal overturns the decision of the Melun court: Pierre Palmade is placed in pre-trial detention and a warrant of committal is issued. A choice made, according to RMCto preserve ongoing investigations and because of a risk of repeat driving under the influence of cocaine.

In a press release, the public prosecutor’s office specifies that the decision of the Paris Court of Appeal is “immediately enforceable” and that the public prosecutor of Melun is responsible for implementing the warrant of deposit. Clearly: the latter can decide at any time to send the comedian to prison.

Prisoner in his hospital room

But in the immediate future, the situation of Pierre Palmade does not change significantly. Now dependent on the Fresnes penitentiary (Val-de-Marne), the actor began his pre-trial detention from his hospital bed with the notification of his warrant of deposit and his imprisonment. His change of status is reflected in particular by a guard posted in front of his door, according to various sources familiar with the matter cited by AFP. “The placement in pre-trial detention (…) was implemented by the public prosecutor at the Melun judicial court,” said the Melun prosecution in a press release. “Because of the state of health of the person concerned, this decision has not to date given rise to a transfer to a penitentiary establishment,” he added.

He will stay in hospital for as long as the doctors believe his condition warrants: when he is fit to be released, there will be a new assessment to determine whether he can go to ordinary detention (with certain types of care) or if he has to go to a specialized establishment.
