EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 22, 2023) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University announced five new members of the Advisory Council on Alumni Relations, a non-fiduciary, non-governing group that works with the Office of Alumni Relations by providing feedback that enhances programming for alumni engagement.
The council consists of up to 15 members appointed by the chancellor. A board of trustees member is appointed to serve as council chair.
Each new council member will serve for four years with term appointments that started Nov. 17.
“Since the inception of the Advisory Council on Alumni Relations, the Office of Alumni Relations has made significant improvements in how we engage alumni through programming, volunteer opportunities and ways to support North Carolina A&T through giving,” said Crystal W. Boyce ’07, ‘15, interim associate vice chancellor for Alumni Relations. “I am excited about the work the council will continue to do to support the University and the A&T family.”
The new members of the council are:
Isiah Guinyard ‘14 | Houston
Guinyard is a program coordinator at Klein Independent School District in Klein, Texas, where he provides leadership in the development and implementation of the district mathematics curriculum. He is a member of A&T’s College of Education Grant Advisory Board.
Keith Graves, Ph.D. ‘70 | Burlington, North Carolina
Graves is a full-time instructor teaching courses in business administration at Alamance Community College where he also serves as a member of the Faculty Affairs/Senate Committee. He is a former assistant professor of leadership studies at A&T. In addition, he is an Army veteran who served as an airborne infantry officer at Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Polk, Louisiana and with the 59th Aviation Bridage/First Calvary Division in the Vietnam War.
Waynette Kimball ’08, ‘10 | Raleigh, North Carolina
Kimball is an administrative specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farm Service Agency. As a liaison between the USDA headquarter office and all 100 North Carolina counties, her primary responsibilities include budget, training and development, purchasing and procurement, contract requisitions and real property. She is an active member of the Halifax Northampton Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T State University and an active participant in the Durham Alumni Chapter.
Donovan Kirkland ‘93 | Alpharetta, Georgia
Kirkland is vice president of global logistics at The Clorox Co. and serves as an advisor for its Black ERG and Supply Chain Leadership Development program. He oversees a broad portfolio of brands including Brita, Burt’s Bees, Clorox, Fresh Step, Glad, Hidden Valley Ranch, Kingsford, Neocell, Pine-Sol, Poett, Rainbow Light and RenewLife in 23 countries. He is a board member of The Aggie Gentz Foundation and the Henry Arthur Callis Education Foundation.
Tony Watlington Jr. ‘20 | Washington, D.C.
Watlington serves as director of government affairs at the Farm Credit Council in Washington, D.C., where he represents the Farm Credit System, the nation’s largest agricultural credit provider. His responsibilities include analyzing various policy issues, managing legislative workgroups and establishing strategic relationships with members of Congress and their staff. Before joining the Farm Credit Council, he served as a staff member for Congresswoman Alma Adams ’68, ‘72, Ph.D., and focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, and securing adequate federal funding for historically Black colleges and universities.
