Official: Dead Space Remake Coming Early 2023 – New Gameplay Revealed

Company Electronic Arts confirmed remake release window Dead Space by EA Motive. An updated version of the space horror will officially be released in early 2023.

The announcement took place after the stream with the developers. The broadcast was dedicated to sound design. The authors of the project told and showed the updated sound systems, as well as presented the new gameplay of the working version of the game.

Two and a half minutes of WIP gameplay:

“In this snippet, we’ll show you a first look at what the current working build of Dead Space Remake looks and sounds like, with some of our new audio and tech improvements.”


ALIVE system – controls Isaac’s heart rate, breathing and cues:

“Isaac’s various reactions help to create the mysterious and creepy atmosphere of Dead Space, and in this video you will see how the developers develop, improve and take this concept to the next level.”

Sound occlusionimproves the perception of sound due to its realistic reflection:

“Learn how these updates allow you to more accurately position audio in space and adjust attenuation and filtering depending on the distance to the sound source – you can hear everything for yourself with examples with comparisons of the sounds of the original game and the remake, prepared for you by sound technical designer Mike Dominyuk and Senior Programmer Diego Merio”.

Comparison of weapon sounds on the example of a plasma cutter and a pulse rifle:

“The goal in this case was to bring the sound quality of the iconic weapons of the first Dead Space to the state of the art. Learn how the team uses additional layered elements to make the sounds of gunshots sound the way they want.”

The Dead Space remake is being built from the ground up for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
