On Friday morning, a hybrid bus from Tec Charleroi was engulfed in flames in Montignies-sur-Sambre (videos).

The driver of a bus was luckily the only person on board during a recent incident. Despite this, the bus caught fire and sustained damage. Firefighters were present to try and put out the fire, but the type of vehicle and its operation made it difficult to use water nozzles. Instead, dry ice was used, and the local police of Charleroi closed the access to the street. As of 9:45 a.m., the situation was still unfolding, and the bus was still blocking the road. A repairman was called to manage the vehicle’s batteries. Other images and a related story about attempted robberies in Marcinelle have been included in the text.

Fortunately, the driver was alone on board, and was able to get by.

The firefighters were unable to deploy their water nozzles, given the type of operation of the vehicle: dry ice was used to control this disaster. The local police of Charleroi closed the access to the street. Around 9:45 a.m., firefighters were still on the scene. A full departure was sent from the barracks. The bus was still in the middle of the road. A repairman was called to take care of the vehicle’s batteries.
