Two people were sucked into a sinkhole that formed under a swimming pool in Karmei Yosef, Israel. On the images broadcast on social networks, we can see the water escaping at full speed from the swimming pool, under the eyes of the other people present.
A 34-year-old man who had been sucked in managed to surface, reports The Times of Israel. He was slightly injured. Another person was less lucky and was found dead, at the bottom of the 15 meter deep hole. The emergency services took four hours to find the lifeless body of the unfortunate.
“Fortunately”, there were only 6 people at that time in the pool and the human toll was limited.
The authorities deployed great means to ensure that there were no other sinkholes, holes that form following the dissolution of limestone in the ground, in the surroundings.
