Mr.Yuthasak Supasorn governorTourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) revealed that from the statisticsforeign touristsTraveling to Thailand in the first 9 months from January 1 to September 30, 2022, the number of foreign tourists accumulated 6,018,943 people, surpassing 6 million, as previously predicted by TAT.
The top 5 number of foreign tourists entering Thailand are:
1.Malaysia 972,699 people
2. India 561,656 people
3. Lao PDR 410,563 people
4. Singapore 311,567 people
5. Cambodia 309,034 people
In terms of the number of tourists by checkpoint, the top five are as follows:
1. Suvarnabhumi Airport 3,252,299 people
2. Phuket Airport 828,684 people
3. Don Mueang Airport 442,603 people
4. Sadao 348,121 people
5. Nong Khai 180,023 people
“It is highly likely that Thailand will reach the target of 10 million foreign tourists this year. It is estimated that during the fourth quarter from October to December this year, there will be 1.5 million foreign tourists coming to Thailand per month.”
After passing the lowest point in April 2020, the airspace was closed to curb the spread of the disease.Covid-19 Resulting in the number of foreign tourists to zero. In 2021, only 400,000 foreign tourists come to Thailand, from a record-breaking record in 2019 with 39.8 million people.
