Operation of the Emirates Hospital for the Relief of Earthquake Victims in Afghanistan

The field hospital set up by the United Arab Emirates in the areas affected by the earthquakes in Afghanistan has started its operations after providing it with medical devices, equipment and supplies, as well as medicines and specialized medical staff.

The hospital comes within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, to respond urgently and provide immediate relief to the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan. The hospital includes 75 beds, 20 oxygen cylinders and two operating rooms on an area of ​​1,000 square meters. The hospital will contribute to achieving the response. Rapid Medical for the wounded who need urgent medical assistance.

His Excellency Issa Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan, said: “The establishment of the Emirati field hospital comes within the framework of the humanitarian efforts made by the UAE to face challenges and provide assistance related to rapid medical intervention and life-saving medicines in the hard-to-reach areas most affected by the earthquake.”

It is noteworthy that the UAE has diversified its urgent relief assistance to the earthquake victims, as it included a variety of food and medical aid, as part of its keenness to participate effectively in international efforts to mitigate the repercussions of the earthquake that struck some areas in Afghanistan.
