Vienna (OTS) – The Österreichische Hotel- und Tourismusbank GmbH (OeHT) has been the national contact point for funding and financing of the tourism and leisure industry since 1947 and is owned by the Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG (OeKB) and the Raiffeisenbank International AG (RBI).

On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics (BMAW), the OeHT has been handling the federal government’s commercial tourism promotion since 1996 and is pursuing the mission of helping to shape domestic tourism in an innovative, sustainable and competitive way. This in direct agreement with the federal and state governments, the local tourism and leisure industry and entrepreneurs along the entire value chain.

On June 6, 2023, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics and the Austrian Hotel and Tourism Bank jointly invited to the anniversary party to mark the 75th anniversary of the OeHT in Vienna’s “Casino Zögernitz”.

The State Secretary for Tourism in the BMAW, Susanne Kraus-Winkler, acknowledged the work of the OeHT for domestic tourism in her speech. “OeHT has been supporting the implementation of tourism policy projects for more than 75 years. As the processing agency for commercial tourism promotion, the OeHT is an enormously important partner for the federal tourism policy. The fact that there is a special credit institution for tourism projects, OeHT, underscores the importance of tourism in Austria,” says State Secretary for Tourism Susanne Kraus-Winkler.

Helmut Bernkopf, board member of OeKB and chairman of the OeHT supervisory board: “OeHT has played a key role in shaping the success story of Austrian tourism since it was founded and has also developed very successfully as a company. And the OeHT will continue to contribute to realizing further opportunities for the domestic tourism sector in the future.
