Paola Ochoa resigns from the vice-presidential candidacy of Rodolfo Hernández – Electoral News – Elections 2022

the journalist Paola Ochoa will no longer be the vice-presidential formula of the former mayor of Bucaramanga, Rodolfo Hernández, transpired on the morning of this Friday. The communicator explained that she is experiencing a marital crisis so, at the moment, she does not have “the energy or the dedication to campaign.”

Ochoa sent Hernández the following message:

“Dear Dr. Rodolfo Hernandez,

With great sadness, I allow myself to renounce my candidacy as a vice-presidential formula in his aspiration to the Presidency of the Republic.

With this appointment, the marital crisis that I am going through with my husband, Juan Ricardo Ortega, was also made public.

I made the first call to him to tell him about such an honorable designation and in it he offered me all his backing and unconditional support in this important task for the country.

Juan Ricardo is a person well versed in economic issues and the fight against corruption, two areas where he enjoys great national and international recognition.

That is why it took me so much surprise that the news of a divorce between the two was made public by some media.

This has given rise to all kinds of speculation that is affecting the mental and emotional health of my four children and mine as well.

Now more than ever, I need time and concentration to attend to this family matter, which fell on me at the moment I least expected.

It is my duty to be with the children at this precise moment in their lives and this prevents me from concentrating fully and totally on the campaign.

I thank you for your confidence in having selected me as your running mate; an honor I did not expect.

I also wish you the best of luck and every success in this electoral contest that lies ahead.

For me there is nothing more important in the world than protecting my children and being a good mother.

I appreciate your understanding on such a sensitive and important issue,

Sincerely,

Paola Ochoa “

“I have had a marital crisis for eight months, but we have had the commitment and the hope of recovering our marriage. Our children do not know anything about this and now the children at school are asked about their parents’ divorce,” he said in interview with Blu Radio, a station where he had resigned this Wednesday.

“My children have a nervous breakdown, all of them, because of this situation, that they find out about a divorce on the radio. I love my husband and I want to rebuild my marriage and for me that comes first. We have never talked about separating. I don’t have neither the energy nor the dedication to campaign, when I have my children in a crisis due to this situation,” he argued.
