patch 1.0 is scheduled for next week

there have been catastrophic launches in the history of video games but few are on the level of that of eFootball 2022. should finally come to the game.

[Mis à jour le 6 avril 2022 à 18h03] “Unplayable”, “zero”, “full of bugs”… The titles given to eFootball 2022 are not the most pleasant to hear. A situation due to a completely failed launch and a game released in a pitiful state. This new game, which was to be the promise of renewal for the PES license, offering a free-to-play formula and next-gen graphics, quickly created disillusion among fans. But Konami is recovering, a little over six months after the game’s release, to offer a 1.0 patch which should correct many of the game’s problems. The studio did not hesitate to qualify the version released this fall as ” demo” as opposed to the real version of the game which will be released at the same time as patch 1.0, on April 14th. You can check out the exact patch notes at the eFootball blogbut know that this update is gigantic, containing additions of features such as “ask for pressing”, usability improvements and deep gameplay changes.

A record of negative reviews

9% is the number of positive reviews of eFootball on Steam, the day after its release. The new Konami license is being tackled hard by players, who do not hesitate to share their catastrophic gaming experience on social networks. A game far from the quality expected of a PES game. The gameplay is slow, the players play on an ice rink, the graphics and animations are clearly outdated… Add to that a multitude of bugs as hilarious as they are sad and you will have a football simulation that is as unplayable as possible. Come on, let’s recover from a little head shot of Leo Messi in play, star of the “jacket” as we recall, and his co-star Cristiano Ronaldo:

Konami responds to criticism

It is therefore the cold shower for Konami. The Japanese game publisher has been conceding goals since the release of its eFootball with relative stoicism, and has already spoken about it on Twitter: “After the launch of eFootball 2022, we received a lot of feedback and requests about game balance, especially regarding passing speed and defensive operation. We are also aware of the problems that users have encountered in cinematics, player movement and ball behavior. We are sorry for these issues and want to assure everyone that we take all these concerns seriously and are working at all costs to improve the situation.” It’s now done, we hope, with this patch 1.0 which may be arriving a little late, more than 6 months after the official release of the game.
