There are two reasons why the “Kostis Palamas” House of Letters is celebrating this year. The first is because it is 165 years since the birth of the poet of the Olympic Anthem, Kostis Palamas, but also because this year there will be a stop and reception ceremony at the poet’s house, as part of his passage through the city of Patras.
As is well known, Patras has been included in the program of the Olympic Flame Tour for April 25 and a standing request has been to become one stop in front of the Poet’s House (241 Corinthou Street) which will even be accompanied by a welcoming ceremony. And this request was accepted after the letter of the president of the Olympic Torch Relay Committee Athanasios Vasiliadis.
The ceremony will last five minutes, but within them it will be set up a bridge between sport and culture, which is also consistent with the Olympic spirit. The event will consist of three partswhile it is noted that it ends under the approval of the Olympic Committee.
