All of Patras and Achaia live to the rhythm of Tsiknopepti with plenty of barbecue, plenty of drink and even more fun!
From early in the morning, events are held in the city organized by the Municipality of Patras in neighborhoods and squares.
An unrepeatable all-day extravaganza, a traditional feast that will unfold during the whole of Tsiknopemti, just as the custom of the day dictates. Ano and Kato Poli took on the intense color of authentic Halloween with satire, traditional music, teasing, wishes and of course barbecues and the giving and taking of the hen.
From 12 noon, the street band “Sourlolou” from Athens took over the party in the main streets and the new City Hall.
From 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. the party will be moved to the Upper Town (from Tabachana to Agios Georgios Square), an area that has been associated with the traditional aspect of the native Halloween. Carnival events and a parade will take place there with the participation of the Cultural Associations of Aro, Gerokomeio, Agyia, Zavlani, Terpsi, Saravali, the Pan-Asian Association of Patras and its surroundings, the Achaean Workshop, the Women’s Association of Agios Vasilios “The Group”, the Dance Department of Patreon Municipality and the Cultural Association “Gaitanaki – Bourani” of Tyrnavos.
Of course, the fun erupts in the dozens of catering establishments of Patras where everyone is having fun, warming up for what is to come during the climax of the Patras Carnival in 10 days!
