Anxiety is at its peak for the Rio Casino, as yesterday Tuesday 20/02/2024 a total of 9 suspension applications for the definitive removal of its operating license were discussed in the Council of State.
As is well known, the Gaming Supervision Control Committee has definitively revoked the casino’s license and the owner company Theros appealed to the Supreme Court to obtain a suspension of the execution of the decision, so that it has the time to make a last-ditch effort to bring the company under the relevant protective law. which provides for the settlement of its debts with its employees and creditors and the “cutting” of its debts to the tax office and EFKA.
In the Fourth Seven-Member Chamber, with Eftychia Kyriakou as rapporteur, 7 related applications for suspension of Theros and two of Vivere were discussed. All of them are of course against the decision of the EEEP. Lawyers for the two companies argued that there were reasons to grant the suspension, since additional investment funds had been found to guarantee that the casino could be saved, as long as it remained operational.
It is noted that Theros executives recently visited computer games fairs in London to outfit the Rio casino in case the confiscation by a portion of employees of its existing machinery is valid.
