Escalating Violence at the Border: Immigration Crackdown Tactics Under Scrutiny

Los Angeles, CA – October 31, 2025 – A disturbing pattern of escalating violence is emerging across the United States as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations intensify under President Trump’s increasingly hardline immigration policies. Recent incidents, including shootings and aggressive vehicle immobilization tactics, are raising serious concerns about the use of force during low-risk detentions of suspected undocumented immigrants.

The latest incident occurred in South Los Angeles on October 21st, where Carlitos Ricardo parias, known online as “Richard LA” for his TikTok documentation of immigration raids, was shot in the arm by agents during an attempted arrest. Parias has been charged wiht assault on a federal agent and faces immigration proceedings. This incident is part of a worrying trend. Just weeks prior, a Mexican man died during an ICE operation in Chicago – the first fatality resulting from police gunfire during an ICE operation this year. Similar confrontations have also been reported in Phoenix.
