The dollar in Peru closed higher as asset managers digested messages from US Federal Reserve officials.
The exchange rate ended the day at S/ 3,636 per dollar, an advance compared to Thursday’s close of S/ 3,629, according to data from the Bloomberg Agency.
So far this year, the greenback accumulates a decline of 4.68% compared to the last price of 2022, at S/ 3,807.

Allisson Pérez, Foreign Exchange trader at Renta4 SAB, pointed out that during the day, the supply came from local banks, since they are liquidating their long positions, while the demand came from corporations. In the market, US$ 313 million was negotiated at an average price of 3.6319.
“Today there was an expiration of Sale Exchange Swaps for S/ 670 million, which was only renewed S/ 500 million and let S/ 170 million expire,” he added.
Parallel market
In the parallel market or the main exchange houses, the dollar is bought at S/ 3.77 and sold at S/ 3.80, according to data from the portal cuantoestaeldolar.pe.
Likewise, the average price in the banking market stands at S/ 3,782 for purchase and S/ 3,783 for sale.
