It was last May that the group Les spectacles roses, composed of Marie-Nathalie Genest, Tracey-Ann Powers, Stéphanie Hamel and Nathalie Milot, participated in the Trek on the Amalfi Coast organized by the Cancer Research Society (SRC ). After deciding to triple their initial goal and receiving help from their friend Patrick Charlebois, winner of the North Pole Marathon, to raise donations, Les Lunettes Roses donated a sum of $126,507 to the SRC.

“This amount raised for research is invaluable to us since we know what it is like to lose someone close to us to cancer. We set ourselves the challenge of raising $50,000 for research as part of the Challenge Against Cancer. Given that this amount was raised quickly, we knew that the needs of the SRC are always growing to advance research. This is why we decided to continue to collect donations,” said Les Lunettes Roses.

They would also like to thank all the donors who contributed to their fundraising.

“Last year, we were amazed at how quickly the $50,000 was raised. A true outpouring of generosity had crossed the Mauricie and today, we are still so grateful to be able to support cancer research thanks to the donations of individuals and businesses who have chosen this cause,” they emphasize.

Remember that this group of friends was closely affected by cancer, while their good friend Caroline Gauthier died of colon cancer in July 2022. It is for this reason that her daughter, Myriam Lepage, join The rose-colored glasses to participate in the trek. In addition, one of the members of the group, Marie-Nathalie, had to deal with radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments and undergo an operation to treat a brain tumor.
