Plaisance-du-Touch. “The street is ours”: more than 900 guests

“La rue est à nous” for its 14th edition has more than fulfilled its objectives. More than 900 people gathered on the Place Bombail to enjoy the meeting and the entertainment concocted by the agents of the city’s entertainment service. With family, friends, work colleagues, or neighbors, the people of Plaisance responded present and for some it was a first. “I had never come, here I come to take in the atmosphere and accompany my children, it’s nice” could we hear or even “It feels good to be able to party and meet up it’s nice we have luck. I will follow the battles while waiting for my order of dishes from Reunion”.

Dances and wanderings punctuated the evening. Intrepid young people have tried their hand at hip-hop and dance battle, others have preferred to have their portrait drawn in the form of a caricature or even to have their face painted or wearing improbable hats made of sculpted balloons. Here on the tight tables laid out to accommodate as many people as possible, the guests of an evening exchange a glass of wine, a radish, or a slice of homemade cake. Between two bites of salad or a slice of pizza, the participants danced and sang with the Supersonic brass band which set fire to the four corners of the square.

The Toulouse group Sofaz closed the evening with a concert of world music with Reunionese accents to dance the Maloya. It’s sure on July 1st the street was for everyone, finally the square, and the 14th edition was a success.
