Poland delivered more than 240 tanks to Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the republic provided Ukraine with military assistance worth $2 billion. Heavy weapons have also been sent to the Ukrainian military.

“Ukraine needs heavy weapons, tanks. These are the needs of Ukraine,” Duda said in an interview with Bild, adding that two days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed him with such a request.

“We sent tanks there, more than 240 tanks that can serve Ukraine,” Duda said. He also cited information that Poland sent about 100 armored vehicles to Ukraine, as well as rifles, rockets and other ammunition. The total volume of military aid amounted to $2 billion.

“These are huge costs, but Poland understands their necessity,” Duda stressed. The Polish leader also turned to all his Western colleagues with a request to send artillery to Kyiv.
