Police Raid Kampung Bahari Drug Den Using Commuter Train in Jakarta

Hundreds of police officers from Polda Metro Jaya and Mabes Polri launched a coordinated raid on Kampung Bahari, Jakarta Utara, on Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, utilizing an electric commuter train to reach the target area.

Rail-Based Deployment and Commuter Line Adjustments

The operation began when law enforcement personnel boarded a special train service departing from Tanjung Priok Station. They departed from Tanjung Priok Station and moved using the KRL Commuter Line. Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary at KAI Commuter, stated in an official announcement covered by detikNews that the movement was coordinated directly with police.

According to KAI Commuter, the special movement did not disrupt regular train schedules toward Tanjung Priok. Perjalanan tersebut tidak berdampak pada perjalanan regular Commuter Line menuju Tanjung Priok, she explained. However, the transport authority issued an apology for minor delays. Three commuter trips experienced delays ranging from four to 19 minutes due to crowds of residents gathering near the tracks in Kampung Bahari during the intervention.

Sindonews Daerah reported that video footage from the scene captured the train stopping directly within the Kampung Bahari sector, allowing officers to disembark immediately and sweep makeshift stalls lining the railway tracks. Sejumlah polisi turun dari KRL dengan perlengkapan masing-masing. Besides boarding the KRL, a number of officers arrived using other vehicles, such as motorcycles.

Multi-Agency Crackdown Yields Arrests and Contraband

The joint operation involved elements from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Bareskrim Polri, Polda Metro Jaya, and Brimob. During the operation, officers even faced resistance. Officers were attacked using firecrackers, but this did not dampen the officers’ resolve to search for the perpetrators distributing illicit goods. Dirnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso explained that officers advanced simultaneously from multiple directions, including the railway corridor.

Iya.

Tirto.id reported that the raid resulted in the apprehension of 27 individuals on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Initial investigations identified three suspects as narcotics users and one as a possession offender. Authorities also seized hundreds of grams of methamphetamine, quantities of marijuana, thousands of ecstasy pills, an ecstasy-producing machine, firearms, sharp weapons, and drug paraphernalia.

Bismo confirmed that illicit drug transactions were still actively occurring at shacks built along the Kampung Bahari railway right-of-way during the operation. Law enforcement plans to demolish these structures and continue operations to target suppliers.
