Thiruvananthapuram ∙ AIG reinstated the suspended officer of Telecommunication SP on the same day. Gunman Akash was suspended by SP: Navneet Sharma IPS on the grounds of trespassing at his residence. After being convinced that the action was wrong, the AIG of the police headquarters, Anoop Kuruvila John, reinstated the policeman.
It is alleged that the SP’s out-of-state employee denied calling Akash to his quarters and asking him to bathe and excreta the SP’s pet dogs.
The SP lives in the police quarters. Two gunmen from telecommunication and AR department are with the SP. Akash was called to the quarters by the SP’s staff on Sunday. When Koran mentioned the dog excrement, Akash sat in the gunmen’s restroom saying it was none of his business.
According to the police, after this, the SI of the SP Telecommunication Headquarters was asked to file a special report against Akash. The instruction was to write that the house was broken into and the equipment was destroyed. The police have also alleged that Akash was suspended on the basis of a report that was forced to be written by the SI.
The association leaders brought the matter to the attention of the DGP. Subsequently, the DGP instructed AIG to withdraw the suspension and transfer Akash to the parent unit, Thiruvananthapuram City.
