The Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni, has reported that Pope Francis’ trip to Dubai, scheduled for next Friday, December 1, has been canceled on the recommendation of doctors.
In a brief statement released late in the afternoon of this Tuesday, November 28, Bruni points out that, “although the general clinical picture of the Holy Father with respect to the flu and inflammation of the respiratory tract has improved, doctors have requested to the Pope not to make the trip planned for the next few days to Dubai.”
The Holy Father was going to visit this city in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, known as COP28.
