Previously, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance Member of Parliament Andreas Panagiotopoulos accused the government of “systematically and methodically striking the collapse of the NHS”, he referred to the need to provide incentives for doctors to go to the islands, the leakage of doctors to the private sector and abroad and staff shortages.

At the same time, an additional 85 million euros, i.e. 545, have been given for the purchase of medical-technological equipment for the health centers”, said the Minister of Health and added: “This is the largest program of complete building and medical-technological renovation of the National Health System since its establishment – such a big plan we are on strike for the collapse of the NHS and at the same time the year 2024 is the year we have announced, are announcing and will announce until the end of the year 6500 permanent recruitment positions in the National Health System, which is the largest annual recruitment program for permanent staff of the NHS from the day of its foundation”.
