PRESIDENT-elect Prabowo Subianto has asked the Democratic Party to prepare its best cadres. This is in preparation for the formation of a cabinet.
“Democrats have indeed been asked to prepare cadres and we are ready,” said Secretary of the Democratic Party’s High Council Andi Mallarangeng, in a virtual discussion entitled ‘Democracy Without Opposition’, Saturday (4/5).
However, Andi confirmed that Prabowo had not clearly conveyed the ministerial portion. Because Prabowo is still trying to design the shape of the cabinet.
“For example, whether the Ministry of the Environment remains affiliated with forestry or stands alone, (then) it is like a free lunch where it is located in the cabinet design,” he explained.
Andi emphasized that there is still a long time of six months to prepare the cabinet. The Democrats completely handed over to Prabowo in distributing ministerial vacancies.
“I think Pak Prabowo already has an idea about what certain positions require, what capacity and abilities certain positions require,” he concluded.
Separately, Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) admitted that there had been discussions on dividing ministers in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka coalition. AHY himself has been involved in the discussion.
