Prabowo Subianto has instructed government ministries to boost national exports ahead of the end of 2026, targeting a broad range of commercial sectors including manufacturing. To clear away administrative roadblocks, the administration has deployed a specialized task force tasked with dismantling bottlenecks that hinder outbound trade.
The economic directive emerged during a high-level briefing between the presidential economic team and President Prabowo at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, October 19, 2026, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
“So our exports will be spurred from all sectors, including manufacturing, so that various things that can reduce exports will later be debottlenecked by the Task Force assigned by Mr. President,” Airlangga stated during a press conference following the meeting.
Evaluating Two Years of Governance and Economic Stability
Aside from export acceleration, the ministerial summit reviewed national economic performance heading into the final stretch of the year while simultaneously evaluating two years of the Prabowo administration. Officials assessed core macroeconomic barometers, tracking GDP growth, inflation trends, banking sector health, and actualized capital investments.
Airlangga confirmed that the domestic economy remains relatively stable. However, the government continues pushing cross-sector coordination to sustain momentum across productive industries. Amplifying international trade serves as a primary vehicle to expand overseas markets for domestic goods amid shifting global economic currents.
Manufacturing holds a central place in this strategy due to its capacity to amplify local industrial output within global supply chains. To clear administrative friction points, the presidential task force will identify and dismantle barriers hampering outbound shipments.
Targeted Interventions Through Presidential Task Forces
The task force relies on a debottlenecking framework designed to resolve trade hurdles efficiently. By streamlining regulatory compliance, officials expect domestic producers to scale their foreign market reach without running into bureaucratic red tape.

Warta Ekonomi noted that the administration’s broader push seeks to optimize productive capacity so that Indonesian merchandise gains a stronger foothold abroad. The targeted approach aims to pair export expansion with strict fiscal and macroeconomic stability through the remainder of the calendar year.
Joining the economic briefing and subsequent press conference were Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara, Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti, and Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi.
Monitoring Economic Indicators and Regulatory Follow-Through
As the administration approaches the conclusion of its second year in office, market observers and industry leaders are tracking how effectively the presidential task force resolves logistics and regulatory disputes. Government officials have emphasized that maintaining steady macroeconomic indicators remains a top priority alongside the export expansion campaign.

The push to eliminate trade bottlenecks will test cross-ministerial coordination as agencies align regulatory frameworks with the executive branch’s export targets. Further policy updates regarding the task force’s operational reach are expected as ministries implement the directive ahead of year-end reporting cycles.
