“Pragiedrulių” creativity center opens in Panevėžys Culture

Therefore, this Saturday, I invite you to visit the “Pragiedrulių” creativity center and try everyone’s favorite, interesting activities, take part in education, classes or other activities”, says Panevėžys Mayor Rytis Račkauskas.

This Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m. after the official announcement of the opening of the “Pragiedrulių” creativity center, free workshops and interactive installations will await those who came. On Saturday, residents who visit the design studio will be invited to create T-shirts, the art studio will hold comic book workshops, the theater studio will offer public speaking education, visitors will be invited to write wishes, create three-frame films, try the art of painting on sheets, participate in workshops on permaculture and the creation of edible forests, seedlings in exchanges, etc. The celebration will be crowned with an acoustic concert by FC BASEBALL.

Audio, video, theater, applied art, photography and art studios operate on weekdays and weekends at set hours, which provide space for experimentation, nurturing creativity, liberation and the development of emotional intelligence.

The homestead also has a resident program and a community garden. Various educations, trainings and activities take place in the studios, which not only develop creativity and cultural entrepreneurship, but also promote social changes. Here you can acquire new skills, get to know various fields of art, find like-minded people, tools and space to realize the ideas born. In order to carry out the activities purposefully, cultural institutions of Panevėžys – Stasios Eidrigevičius Arts Center, Panevėžys Musical Theater, Theater “Menas”, Aukštaičiai-Žemaičiau community and partners from the Norwegian organizations “Nabolagshager” and “Fragment” joined the project implementation.

We remind you that by using EU investments, the building of the Juoz Čerkes-Besparnis homestead located in Skaistakalnis Park and its surrounding environment was repaired and adapted for cultural activities last year. The implementation works of the reconstruction project of the homestead of the poet, activist, lawyer, public figure Juoz Čerkes-Besparnis were divided into two stages. The farmhouse was reconstructed in the first stage.

The necessary structural construction, water supply and sewage, heating, ventilation, electricity, security, fire protection, telecommunications systems were installed here, the necessary applied research, administrative heritage protection works were carried out, creative, exhibition, administrative, technical, storage rooms, lighting, etc. were installed.

During the II stage of the project implementation, the glass “Pragiedrulių” extension with 350 sq.m. m of expositions, creative activities, conferences, recreation, hygiene, etc. premises, the environment is arranged, a community garden has been established. In order for the activities to revive the interest of the public figure Juoz Čerkes-Besparnis to gather people of various professions and exchange ideas, applied arts, theater, audio-video, resident studios and exhibition space were installed.

The total value of this project is slightly more than 1 million. EUR, of which over 950 thousand EUR consists of funds from the European Economic Area Fund, over 118 thousand. EUR – Municipal contribution.
