President G. Nausėda's thanks for the duty performed by the resident of Lazada to the historical memory

The President not only presented A. Kamarūnas with a “Lietuvos garbės” statuette, thanked him, but also personally presented a bundle of books from the new edition of “Aušra”.

Since last Saturday, Albina Kamarūnas from Lazda has been known and respected by the whole of Lithuania. On March 11, at the national awards “Honour of Lithuania” held on TV3 television, our compatriot A. Kamarūnas was presented with the winner’s statuette, and he was congratulated and shaken by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda himself on live air, watched by hundreds of thousands of viewers.

A. Kamarūnas was awarded the title of “Lietuanian honor” for the fact that he guarded the grave of a Lithuanian partisan who died in the village of Sapiegiški all his life and managed to find out the identity of the partisan through his efforts.
