President Yoon Seok-yeol will visit Japan for two days and one night from the 16th to the 17th at the invitation of the Japanese government.
The President’s Office announced on the 9th that a summit meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will be held during President Yoon’s visit to Japan, and that the detailed schedule during the visit is currently being coordinated with the Japanese side and is being prepared.
President Yoon’s visit to Japan will be accompanied by First Lady Kim Kun-hee, who will also host a friendship event with First Lady Yuko Kishida.
In particular, President Yoon’s visit will resume bilateral summit exchanges between Korea and Japan, which had been suspended for 12 years, and will be an important milestone in the improvement and development of Korea-Japan relations.
In addition, it is expected that cooperation in various fields of security, economy, society and culture will be expanded and exchanges between the peoples of the two countries will be further vitalized in order for the two countries to overcome the unfortunate history of the past and move forward into the future.
