Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police has warned drivers against making sudden turns on roads that are prone to accidents. To highlight the seriousness of the issue, the police have released a video of the accident as part of the ‘Your Comment’ initiative in collaboration with the Monitoring and Control Centre.
According to the Traffic Act, a fine of Dh400 will be imposed on light vehicles that fail to follow the instructions. Sudden swerving will attract a fine of Dh1,000 along with four traffic black points. The Directorate of Traffic and Patrol has requested the drivers to exercise caution and avoid speedy driving such as sudden changes and improper overtaking. Advised to ensure the road is clear before changing lanes or overtaking and refrain from careless lane changes that endanger the safety of all road users
