The 16th Prosecutor’s Office of Táchira accused the subject of sexual abuse towards a young woman, who asked for help at the time of the rape.
A 57-year-old man, who works as a priest, was charged by the Public Ministry (MP), after filing a complaint for sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl.
Officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) came to the apprehension of the subject, whose capture occurred in flagrante delicto just at the moment that the young woman asked for help.
The incident occurred on August 13 at the “La Ermita” church in Táchira, where the accused appeared drunk and attempted to abuse the victim. But the teenager screamed and a relative, who was there, managed to hear her.
Immediately, the authorities were notified for the prompt capture of the person responsible.
The 16th Prosecutor’s Office of the Andean entity prosecuted him on charges of sexual abuse towards the adolescent.
“In the brief consigned before the 2nd Court with jurisdiction in Violence Against Women in that Andean entity; the fiscal representation requested the admission of the accusation, the prosecution of the priest and that the deprivation of liberty be maintained at the PNB headquarters in San Cristóbal, ”reviewed the MP’s website.
