The source told Alsumaria News, “The demonstrators burned tires at the intersection of the lobby in Nasiriyah Governorate, in protest against the approval of the House of Representatives to amend the election law.”
He added, “The demonstrators took this step as an escalatory measure to reject the law and not pass it in its current form.”
On Sunday evening, the House of Representatives held a session in the presence of 189 deputies, and decided to resume voting on amending the election law.
