“Double Just a Lie” Kremlin speaks of “megaactive” Putin
So far there is no evidence of a double of Putin.

The Russian President’s public appearances are becoming rarer. Rumors about Putin’s use of doubles have persisted for years, as has his health. “All lies,” emphasizes the Kremlin, where hardly anyone can “keep up” with Putin.
The Kremlin has denied allegations that Russian President Vladimir Putin is represented by doubles at public appearances. “You’ve probably heard that Putin has many doubles who work for him while he’s in a bunker. That’s another lie,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told young people at an educational event in Moscow. “You see what kind of president we have. He was and is mega active. We who work with him can hardly keep up with him.”
Speculations recently arose about a Putin double in view of a visit by the Kremlin chief to Russian-occupied Ukrainian war zones. “That wasn’t the real Putin,” said Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov last week. The Kremlin rejected this statement even then. In fact, there is no evidence that there is actually a double of Putin on official dates.

Rumors about Putin’s use of doubles have persisted for years, as has his health. They had found new nourishment through the president’s rare appearances during the corona pandemic. The Russian head of state continues to live according to strict hygiene rules.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hinted at the possibility that Putin may have been dead and replaced by a double. “I’m not sure if he’s really alive, if it’s him who makes the decisions or someone else,” Zelenskyj said.
In February 2020, Putin said that in the 2000s he had rejected the proposal to be represented by a double for security reasons because of the risk of attacks. Since the corona pandemic, Putin can usually be seen on TV all alone in his office when he participates in video conferences. When appearing outside the Kremlin, some internet users analyze the images and videos in detail to determine whether the person in question is the president or a stand-in.
