On Tuesday, the fifty-something-year-old from the Ardennes and his partner decide to spend the day in Belgium. It is particularly hot that day; the couple decides to have lunch in Bouillon, and enjoy the freshness of the Semois. “We had chosen a restaurant but at the last moment, we changed our minds. We preferred to have lunch at the Brasserie des Remparts. A happy coincidence…” It is 1 p.m. when the couple sits down on the terrace. ” We have a drink. We order. Suddenly, we heard screams coming from inside the restaurant”says this former policeman from Charleville-Mézières who converted to security with our colleagues from the Union.
Raphaël rushes inside the establishment and sees that a customer, who was having lunch with his wife and their three children, is choking on a piece of meat. Thanks to the first aid gestures learned more than 30 years ago, the security guard saved the father of the family. The latter was then taken care of by the emergency services and operated on at the Libramont hospital.
