Raymond Ndong Sima and his “companions” from the Patriotic Alliance (AP) are going there without any prerequisites.

Whether the next meeting has a sovereign character or not, the interim President of the Patriotic Alliance, Emmanuel Edou Eyene, announced during a press conference that the AP will take part in the dialogue next April and said count on the moral authority and great wisdom of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Libreville. The AP believes that the President of the CTRI will not ignore the will of the people.

For Emmanuel Edou Eyene and the Patriotic Alliance, the question of the sovereignty of the next inclusive national dialogue would automatically be resolved by the decree convening and setting the contours of the next meeting. Decree which specifies in particular that the decisions of the dialogue will be the subject of legal acts, subject to the sanction of the sovereign people during the upcoming constitutional referendum.

While listening and perfectly understanding the aspirations legitimately expressed in recent days by the strong forces of the nation, the Patriotic Alliance nevertheless says it takes note and aligns itself behind the latest evolution of the position of the CTRI which wants the national dialogue to be inclusive and not sovereign, informed its interim President.

Regarding the themes, terms of reference and objectives of the work of the next national dialogue, the AP pleads for the debates to be essentially limited to the root causes of the Gabonese crisis, at the origin of the “liberation coup”, on August 30, 2023, following yet another electoral hold-up.

It should be a question, in the understanding of the Patriotic Alliance, of devoting exclusively the debates on the search for solutions to the deficits of political, institutional and electoral governance so as not to allow the prosperity of a certain conception which wants the foundations of April 2024 deal with all the problems facing Gabon.
