Red Bull F1 leader “The end of F1 in Germany is unbelievable”[F1-Gate.com]

Helmut Marko, Red Bull F1’s motorsport adviser, says the end of F1 in Germany is “incredible”.

F1 used to be filled with German drivers, German teams, two German Grands Prix and a lot of people who followed F1, but things are very different now.

Nico Hulkenberg is the last German driver, Hockenheim and the Nürburgring are off the calendar, and there are even signs that Formula 1 will disappear from free-to-air TV from 2023.

“In Germany, F1 has turned into a tragedy that all motorsport enthusiasts can only be ashamed of,” former Mercedes F1 boss Norbert Haug told Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.

“A committed green anti-car activist could not have developed a more ambitious and unsuccessful German F1 strategy.

“Audi, we have a problem. That’s all I can say.”

In fact, Volkswagen-owned Audi will join Mercedes’ F1 grid from 2026.

Norbert Haug says Audi has joined Germany to “work together” as a common responsibility.

“We must not fall prey to car haters who overlook that much of Germany’s prosperity as a car powerhouse was created by the success of the car and its exports,” said Norwald Haug. .

Red Bull F1 motorsport adviser Helmut Marko agrees with his German-speaking colleague.

“It’s unbelievable what’s happening in Germany right now,” Helmut Marko told Sport1.

“In Austria it’s just the opposite. F1 is more booming than ever. Red Bull is considered the Austrian national team and the whole country is rooting for Red Bull.”

“That’s why I hope that Mercedes will be strong again and the Germans will feel at one with them.”
