Red Bull F1 representative “Technical team including Honda is the strongest in team history”[F1-Gate.com]

Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner says Red Bull Racing now has the strongest technical team in the team’s history.

Red Bull Racing won the driver’s title for the second consecutive year at the F1 Japan GP held at Suzuka Circuit last weekend. And at this weekend’s F1 American Grand Prix, he’s looking for the Constructors’ title, which he hasn’t achieved since 2013.

If Red Bull Racing wins the Constructors’ title, it will be the first since F1 entered the hybrid era.

Christian Horner paid tribute to Chief Technology Officer Adrian Newey. Adrian Newey has overseen yet another title success with yet another new set of F1 regulations, 30 years after his car brought the first title in 2022.

Asked about Adrian Newey’s lasting contribution, Christian Horner replied: “Adrian and the whole technical team.”

“I think technical director Pierre Washet, Enrico Barbo (head of aerodynamics), Craig Skinner (chief designer) and Ben Waterhouse (head of performance engineering) are the strongest technical team we’ve ever had.”

“And I think that’s a testament to the hard work behind the scenes that has resulted in this kind of performance.”

Christian Horner stressed last year’s title battle with Mercedes forced the team to switch to the 2022 project later than some of its rivals.

“The team has put in a lot of blood and blood to get the competitive car it is today as the last team to move to it, with what we did last year and the big pressure of the cost cap and other things this year. I think I shed sweat and tears.”

“I think it was a phenomenal performance by everyone involved – the car, how it adapted to the new regulations, the engineering team, and I think Max has grown since his first world championship.”

“His run, the way he’s run this year is just on another level and he really deserves this championship, so I want to pay tribute to him.”

“Everyone at the factory, all our partners at Red Bull, all our technical partners, it’s been incredible this year to up the gear even further.”

Christian Horner also thanked Honda. The two companies have signed a new contract, and Honda’s logo has reappeared on Red Bull’s F1 machine from the F1 Japan GP.

Christian Horner has asked Honda F1 project leader Yasuaki Asaki to accept the Constructors’ Trophy at Suzuka.

“With Honda confirming their participation for the next three years and winning here, only Asaki, one of the heroes behind the scenes within the Honda organization and within HRC, deserves to receive the Constructors’ Trophy today. A very proud moment for everyone at HRC.

“We are very grateful for the support they have given us so far and as suppliers this year they have done a great job as well. You did a great job.”

“You have to put everything together to achieve the kind of result that we got. And we did it. We did it.”

He also paid tribute to the Red Bull boss.

“I also have to give a big kudos to Dietrich Mateschitz. We are here because of everything he has provided for all of us and the constant support from Red Bull.”

“And I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate Dietrich and everyone at Red Bull for what has been achieved.”
