Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is confident that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez driver pairing will be even stronger in 2022.
Max Verstappen won the 2021 F1 World Champion with 10 wins in 2021, but Sergio Perez was volatile early in the season.
However, towards the end of the season, Sergio Perez showed a strong run, playing an important role in helping Max Verstappen win the title, especially in the final round of the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez, who stayed out in the race at the top, showed a great defense against Lewis Hamilton and assisted Max Verstappen to bring him back within reach of Hamilton.
Christian Horner says he hopes the two drivers will step up their gear in 2022 as they gain more confidence in the way they close the 2021.
“I saw the culmination of the second half of the race, especially in teamwork in Abu Dhabi,” said Christian Horner.
“Czech Republic (Perez) won the race in Azerbaijan in his first year and also got another podium. He will be stronger and will step up in 2022.”
“Last year Max was astounding. It was a great season for him. He dominated the number of lead laps, won 10 Grand Prix and, of course, the World Championship, so his confidence is incredibly high. I’m aiming to build on those performances in 2022. “
Christian Horner emphasized that Red Bull F1’s most important asset for the 2022 season is harmony between drivers, which enhances the organization as a whole.
“I think the most important thing is that I worked really hard as a team,” commented Christian Horner.
“Seeing the two drivers working and supporting each other, seeing the strength and depth of the team, overcoming the pandemic, continuing to develop cars in the same way, and addressing the challenges faced last year. That really enlivened the team. “
“We think we’ll be in great shape in 2022 and we’re looking forward to the coming season.”
